Cell Culture Medium Comparison Tool
Selecting the right cell culture medium is critical for successful cell growth and reproducible experimental results. While media names such as RPMI 1640, DMEM, MEM, or F12K are widely recognized, formulations sold under the same name can vary considerably between manufacturers. These differences may affect cell growth, metabolism, transfection efficiency, and other experimental outcomes.
This scientifically reviewed tool helps researchers compare commonly used mammalian cell culture media side by side. Media formulations have been carefully curated, standardized, and organized by scientists to enable meaningful comparisons across both different media types and manufacturer-specific formulations.
To get started, select two to four media formulations from the dropdown menus and click Compare. Differences in media composition will be highlighted in the results table, making it easy to identify similarities and formulation-specific variations.
All values have been compiled as accurately as possible based on available manufacturer formulation data sheets. However, no guarantee can be given for the completeness or absolute accuracy of the data. Always refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for critical applications.
